Forty Licks
This is from a private collector. The collector will entertain offers.
This image is from the album of the same name. Forty Licks was compiled following the enormous success of The
Beatles' 1 compilation from 2000. Released in September, Forty Licks
peaked at #2 in the UK and
US - behind Elvis Presley's 30 #1 Hits package - selling several million
units worldwide, not least in the United States, where it is
certified quadruple platinum.
Of the four new songs featured on Disc Two,
"Don't Stop" was promoted as a single, becoming a minor hit in both
the UK and the US. Curiously,
the album contained no songs from the Dirty Work. Though that album is
generally seen as a weak point in the Stones' discography, the decision not
even to include "Harlem Shuffle" or "One Hit (to the Body)"
is a somewhat strong reaction to the critical opinion of most of the remaining
album.
